REVOLT OF THE ZOMBIES (A Short Review)
For a movie made in 1936, this movie isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever seen. It’s only an hour and five minutes long, so it moves quickly. That being said, it could have moved even quicker. There is a 30 minute setup that could honestly been done in 5-10 minutes. I think this movie could have been done in 35 minutes tops. The ending was a little cookie cutter, but that’s because it is so old. Overall, I think the first half was unnecessary, but the second half was really good. Many people on IMDB gave it 3 out of 10 stars. I don’t think it’s as bad as these people believe. I’d give it between 6-8 stars, but only if you take into account when it was made, and if you still keep your interest for the second half.
Now it’s onto The Screaming Skull made in 1958… Perhaps another review for that will follow. -
